Bengal man barks at govt officer as protest after his name is misspelt as ‘dog’ in ration card

He had applied for correction of his name in the ration card thrice

You might have seen a number of ways of protest but we bet you haven’t come across something as weird as this. A video has surfaced on social media where a man is seen barking in front of a government official as a mark of protest in West Bengal’s Bankura district. The man, named Srikanti Dutta, is disgruntled with the government authorities because his surname ‘Dutta’ has been misspelt as ‘Kutta’ (meaning dog in Bengali) in his ration card. So, as a mark of protest before the executive magistrate in Bengal, he started ‘barking like a dog’ just like the way his surname is spelt in the ration card. The video has gone viral.

In the widely shared video, the man can be seen dressed in full sleeve shirt and pant and throughout the 45-second video did not utter a single word. He stands near the car window of the government officials and barks and then hands over the documents to him, who then passes it to another person.

”I applied for correction of name in ration card thrice. On third time my name was written as Srikanti Kutta instead of Srikanti Dutta. I was mentally disturbed by this,” Srikanti Dutta, the Bengali man whose name has been wrongly mentioned in his ration card to ANI.
