Sanjukta Dutta’s creations feature on L’officiel

For a designer who has taken the Oxomiya Mekhela Sador to the word stage, this is another step forward for Oxom's biggest name in fashion

Guwahati Nov 21: US-based fashion magazine L’officiel has featured Oxom designer Sanjukta Dutta’s creations in their latest edition. Shot in New York, model Nayana Vishva looks elegant and stunning donning the Sanjukta Dutta Label, in this case an exquisite deep blue dress that goes impressively well with a pair of high boots.

L’officiel continues to be a leading haute couture magazine of the world and is often referred to as the Luxury Bible for the modern women.

Sanjukta has in her journey to the world’s biggest ramps empowered rural artisans of India and helped bring age-old Assamese handloom to the global stage, a combination tat has over the years given her a spot in the international fashion industry.

Sanjukta Dutta is known for establishing the Oxomiya “Mekhela Sador” internationally and is a torchbearer for the revival of Assam’s handloom industry.

Central to her success is her focus on creating unique combinations fusing contemporary traditions and prints with modern design aesthetics on Assamese silk. Sanjukta started out as an engineer with a government job in Assam’s Public Works Department. And then fashion happened. The rest is history in the making…
