Prime Minister dedicates 600 MW Kameng project in Arunachal Pradesh to nation
With the new project in place, Arunachal Pradesh is now poised to be in a power-surplus position

Guwahati, Nov 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday dedicated the 600 MW Kameng hydro power project in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district to the country.
The Kameng hydro power project has been developed at a cost of more than Rs 8,450 crore in an area spread over more than 80 square km in West Kameng district of the state.
It is expected to make Arunachal Pradesh a power surplus state and benefit the national grid in terms of stability and integration. With its river systems Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeastern states have the potential to become the biggest source of hydro-electric power for the country.
